What’s next? I’m ready to continue being Mayor so we can carry on the work of improving our community. Just think of all that has been accomplished – we shepherded the city through the worst flood in its history, guided us through a global pandemic, addressed a decades-in-the-making infrastructure crisis and worked hard to maintain our community values amid the state’s rapid growth.

Together, we are bringing innovative thinking to city government and lifting the quality of life for the residents of Fort Lauderdale. And it’s working. We have so

About Dean Trantalis

Since his election in March 2018, Mayor Dean Trantalis has dedicated himself to enhancing Fort Lauderdale’s vibrancy and livability. Under his leadership, the city has seen innovative improvements in infrastructure and the transformation of Downtown Fort Lauderdale into a bustling cosmopolitan hub. Mayor Trantalis has been instrumental in creating new public spaces and protecting the city’s cherished neighborhoods, reflecting his commitment to a thriving, sustainable Fort Lauderdale.

Before his historic mayoral victory – the city’s largest margin for a first-term mayor – and a subsequent re-election with unprecedented voter turnout, Mayor Trantalis served eight years on the City Commission, advocating for District 2. His representation on key county and metropolitan boards – his influence has played a big part in preparing Fort Lauderdale for the future while protecting the things that make Fort Lauderdale an incredible place to live, work and play.
